Kerry Bolognese for State Delegate

Republicans Nominate Bolognese in 41st District Special Election

(Springfield, VA) – Kerry Bolognese became the Republican nominee for the vacant seat in the House of Delegates representing the 41st District on Saturday, January 23rd when no other candidate filed.

“Virginia is in a serious budget crisis and Fairfax County is under-represented while the 41st District is without a delegate in Richmond,” said Bolognese.  “I want to work with Governor McDonnell to curb excessive state spending by imposing some fiscal discipline on the government.”

“All you have to do is look across the Potomac to see what spending without restraint leads to - record debt and deficits that we and our children will have to pay.  Rather than deal with the problem, the Democrats in Washington still want to nationalize our health care, enact a trillion dollar cap and trade scheme, and load another multi-billion dollar ‘stimulus’ on the backs of taxpayers.  It is spending on steroids and the bills will come due.  We can’t afford that type of government in Virginia,” said Bolognese.

“I’ll say ‘no’ to more taxes and more spending in Richmond,” he concluded.

The special election will be held Tuesday, March 2nd.  Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at their normal voting location.

The 41st District of the Virginia House of Delegates parts of Springfield, Burke and Fairfax Station.  The seat became vacant when then-Delegate David Marsden was elected to the State Senate.

The Democratic Party nominated Eileen Filler-Corn, a Washington, DC lobbyist, on Thursday.

Bolognese is Vice President for International Programs at the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges.   He and his wife Christine attend Calvary Road Baptist Church.  They have three grown children and four grandchildren.
