Unsurprising: Democrat Hypocrisy on Budget
Then: We Must Have a Budget Immediately! Now: Budgets? Eh, They're Overrated.
Back in January ...
Democrats were clamoring to the microphones, yelping and demanding that Republicans produce a plan to fix Governor Kaine's budget mess IMMEDIATELY.
"What's the plan? What is our governor's plan to address the second $2 billion in cuts? What is the plan to address the second two? Tell us!" -- Sen. Edd Houck, D-Spotsylvania
"I have to tell you I have a problem with the notion that he says he's only been in office a short time and he can't get it all together in that short of a time. Nevermind the fact that other governors have done the very same thing. This governor knew what he was signing up for when he ran for this office. He ran for this office for months -- if not years."--
How concerned were the Democrats? So concerned that they built a website (since taken down) dedicated to jabbing Republicans into producing a plan to address the massive budget deficits left over from the Kaine administration.
Of course, Governor McDonnell rolled out his budget plan on Feb. 17, and the budget was balanced, without the massive tax hikes Democrats were so eager to impose.
Now..
Where are the Virginia Democrats standing up, demanding that Congress pass a budget - any budget, not even a balanced budget - as required by law?
When Democrats are running the show, the sense of urgency seems to magically disappear.
"Name one person who won or lost an election because they didn't get a budget resolution passed," Connolly said. "It's totally inside baseball." -- Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-11th
Just today Democrats announced that they're putting off the hard decisions until later. In fact, you can find the sum total of Democrat outrage over the budget here.
